Dr.Daniel Callahan has had a life long interest in many of the aspects of Eastern philosophy and culture; including marital arts, Feng Shui, meditation, astrology, herbal healing both Western and Eastern, massage, Yoga, Tai Chi, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and other Oriental Medical Traditions (e.g. Korean and Japanese). In 1972 he graduated from Mt. St. Mary's College in Emmitsburg, Md. with a B.S. in Economics followed by a Masters in Industrial Relations from St. Francis in Loretto, Pa in 1974. He has spent over 25 years in both the corporate and small business worlds while continuing to study many aspects of Eastern phylosopy. In the early 1990's, he began studying martial arts and achieved the rank of 2nd Dan (2nd Degree Black Belt) in Tae Kwon Do in 1997. His training in the formal aspects of TCM began in 2000. He attended the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine at both the Racine, Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois campuses shortly after the beginning of the millennium and earned a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2003. Followed by the addition of a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition in 2005. In 2024, he earned a Doctor of Acupuncuture and Oriental Medicine from the Midwest Colleg of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Over the years he has both attended and taught numerous continuing educational classes in Oriental Medicine, and other disciplines. In early 2004 he opened the private practice of Tri-County Center of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine serving communities in southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. It is the longest serving Oriental Medical Clinic in this region. He has been on staff at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine since 2004 serving as both a clinical superivisor and instructor at both the Racine and Chicago campuses for both didactic and practicum classes. |
